From now on you will not only find Wordpress stuff but also Drupal. If you have not yet put your hands on it.. we feel that its time for it. If you have already, you must have known that Drupal core functionality doesn't support Rich Text Editing for TEXTAREAs. Below are a few standard & popular Drupal WYSIWYG Text Editors.

The most important module, Wysiwyg API is missing in your list, which replaces all those client-side editor integration modules.

I agree with Drupal Theme Garden, a review of these different editors would be very helpful.

I find tinymce to be the most aesthetically pleasing, but it does have some major flaws such as proper spacing.

Thanks for that overview!
I tested Nicedit, I think if I remember right that's the one which produces UpperCase HTML tags?

I am absolute fan of FCKEditor, as this editor not only uploads images, it can be configured to upload, integrate Flash, MP3 or other files as well. It can be configured using some plugins, for nonbreaking spaces for example or for FLVPlayer

Unfortunately the many configurations in the fckconfig.js and the config.php are mostly unknown and the standard Drupal-FCKeditor-Module does not use all these possibilties,..

So with FCKEditor you can
. import and integrate images
. import and integrate flash videos
. import and integrate mp3 (by a plugin, as well as FLV)
. import and link to other filetypes (like PDF, DOC etc.)
. you can define which commands you want to use in the toolbars
. you can edit and modify tables with the great table plugin and so on..

I bet you cannot do all this with other RichTextEditors!
And as Drupal comes so nakedly and beginners are absolutely confused by the many many modules which produce so many problems.. it is a great relief to integrate FCKEditor and by this to be able to integrate files which you uploaded by FTP before. as well (some modules only know the files which you uploaded one by one and so on....)

Conclusion:
if you are with Drupal and you want conflictless and painless file integration, upload and folder-administration, go ahead, study the configuration files and integrate the FCKeditor with FULL features!
