The dfGallery v2 - Coming Soon

Your rating: None Average: 4.4 (29 votes)

Yes, It is the same dfGallery you are awaiting... Sure you are aware that we are working on the v2 and we have been trying to finish this from a long time but have failed. This is because we are constantly adding new features into it to make it one of the best free flash galleries... We are in the 80% of the completion and we promise the finish the rest within the next few weeks. We have been getting a huge number of requests for the next version and trying to incorporate almost every request into this version. If you are not aware, the v1 of the Gallery is a simple SWF based on an XML but this new version is much better than the previous version. We have almost everything you will need for a gallery.

" THIS IS STILL GOING TO BE FREE "

Here are some of the cool features:

  • Admin

    • A full blown AJAX based Administration console to manage the whole app.
  • Yes, you can control multiple Galleries and multiple Albums for each of it.
  • Architecture

    • A slick architecture that allows us to extend to any new feature easily in the future [modular system].
    • We will also have a community where we have contributions for Themes and Skins, could even include Plugins...
  • Default Album Types:

    • Flickr
    • Picasa
    • Manual Image Uploads [multiple]
  • A huge list of properties / features you can toggle from the admin interface.
  • Themes

    • Themes give you full control over the layout of the Gallery
    • Elements / Buttons / Controls on the Gallery are a part of Themes
  • Skins

    • Skins are the look & feel of the Theme.
    • You can have multiple Skins for a Theme
    • Image based skinning system
    • XML controlled positioning of elements

NOTE: We are still engineering and your ideas will be highly appreciated.

Maybe V2 will come out soon since V1 isn't working at all?

I think one of the main issues is somewhere along the line, the gallery calls your website and for some reason isnt connecting. Can you remove that problem so it can be functional?

Hello,

Is this project still being developed?
I see comments from users hoping this will be available in September...

Please, let us now if you're still working on it :)

Thanks!

I do not want any feeds by the php fetcher, but only the images I put in myself in the xml.
Do I need to modify the 'gallery.php' file?

Couldn't get the gallery to work after uploading.
The page just stops at the "loading... 20%" and nothing happens. Help, anyone? Thanks.

nice plugin... i'd like to see a working demo. I can't get the downloaded version to work.. there are a couple of undefined elements in the XML file. It would also be nice NOT to have some advertisement show up before it loads. that's just janky.

If possible, please add SmugMug to the list of sites from which dfGallery v2 can pull photos. I don't think this would be difficult because they have feeds just like Flickr and Picasa, but I could be wrong.

Looking forward to this!

It would be great to be able to purchase a license to remove the df link. I would love to use this on some client sites, but can't use it because of the link.

Thanks for your great work!
