Is Flash Dying?

I'd like to point out an article I read recently at http://scobleizer.com/2010/01/30/can-flash-be-saved/ . Basically, the premise of this guy's argument is that Flash will be dead on the web in a matter of years, mostly because what he calls the "web elite" don't care for it, and it's not supported on the iPhone.

I found that reading the comments of this article was much more educational than reading the article itself, which boils down to the ramblings of a Flash-hater, something I'm starting to see a lot of on the web.

I don't think Flash is going to die anytime soon, and I don't think it should. It's a powerful tool and Actionscript 3 is one of the easiest most flexible languages a web developer can master. I think most of this hatred for Flash comes from years of abuse by bad web designers.

One of the best examples of bad flash is this guy. http://www.flashpastyoureyes.com/ You have to see it to beleive it.

The problem with Flash is, to use it properly you've really got to be an expert in UX and interface design, because when you take away the traditional set up of a website (using the browser's scrollbar or the back button, for example) it can be tricky to deliver an intuitive design.

I'd like to hear what other people think of this.

Flash will die, no question about it. HTML5 is the future!
