Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm kinda new to this...

I am currently at the admin/setup area and attempting to install the Gallery.  I put my IP as hostname (just like I do when conecting to my server eslewhere) and enter my user info, database: "dfgallery2", prefix: "dfg2" and it keeps saying "Unable to connect to the database with the given credentials, or the installed mysql Connector does not support authentication protocol."

Am I doing something wrong?  I've tried resetting my user password from my cPanel and that does not work either.  Do I need to do something with my "mysql Connector"?  If so, how do I attempt such a task?
